Gor Gai Moving to Thailand after college?

So im starting college soon for photography and web development, and after I finsh i'd like to go to to Thailand for at least a few years if not my whole life, just becuase the culture intrests me so much. Still I have some questions,
    1. I hear it's pretty much impossible to get a job, photography is universal so do I have a chance with doing that at all?
    2. I'm working on learning thai but how will foreigners be treated and someone like me whos both homosexual and a artsy not in your face but still it's an important factor?

New to furoms so if I wasnt supposed to post something like this here then i'm sorry!

    Cole...

    I will address the #2…

I for one, don’t very care if you’re a homosexual, lesbian, gay, or from Neptune…., doesn’t bother me one bit. If I am to be friend with you, it’s because we have common interest in photography. In fact in thailand you will not be making fun of that much, like in the west. We do accept everyone here and their preference of choice widely.

The ones you should be worrying about you being gay and will be making fun of you more - are mostly from your own farangs overhere (some are just a mean soul), once here you will see many of them are just typical straight/white/ alpha male with their catch of the moment and who only see goods in themselves. Just stay away from many tourists ghetto areas, try to find many areas of local artists hanging out, and you will be fast making local friends with the same interests……like around university and weekend markets where they will be selling their works, just stop by & have a chat with them.

I have found that many artists of all types in thailand are also gay, and it’s doesn’t bother them or most of us Thais one bit….it’s their works that we are only interested in.

Ps: Forget about getting job in Thailand, just come with enough money to experience thailand for a few years then go back and persue your higher education. Hopefully your experiences from here will help enriched your mind and future education tremendously.

Nice one. Agree. Gays are generally widely accepted among Thai communities although some parents do frown upon their own children for being gays.... others' children are ok though.

Thais aren't as openly judgmental as many westerners.

Teaching would be about the only valid job available, but you won't have the needed degree for a "real" position. Without a real position, visas will be difficult.

You may just want to travel the wider region and see where you might really wish to settle.

I cannot imagine an openly gay man dressing and acting the part getting a teaching job in Thailand. in an international school as an art teacher, with the proper qualifications, yes. but not in a Thai-managed school.
