    Bangkok & Chiang Mai - March 2010

These were all taken with a Canon 500D, a wide angle lense and a 50mm. Processed in a variety of ways, from hi-fi to lo-fi, cross processing, muted tones, etc. Enjoy. (Just let me know if you'd like to see a bigger size)

A celebratory post... we booked a month in Thailand today. The whole of March 2011. 1 week in Bangkok and 3 weeks in Chiang Mai. Excited!

hope then it keeps on raining for the next 2 months, and we have a cool season that's indeed cool, so as to minimise the forest fires that usually make Chiang Mai unpleasant to unbearable that time of the year.

I really like your photo of Wat Triamit, but I kept thinking that I don't remember it looking quite the same. So, I did a little bit of google research and saw that the Golden Buddha now has a new home atop a four story building. I assume this is the new home.

I love the angle of the photo!

Congratulations on your plans for a new trip. Enjoy!

Khun Don: Thanks. Hopefully I'll be better prepared next time with lenses. And I think last time I spent more time trying to soak up my surrounds rather than photograph them.

Betti: There was much talk on the plane to CM about the smoke situation. I think we got there the day after the "cloud busting" and it tipped with rain while we were having dinner on NH Road... All fine after that, but we couldn't see the hills from the hotel much.

Susana: Thanks. This was just after a some heavy rain... Looked very moody!

    More photos to come later.

Nice pics, it's really interesting looking at other peoples pictures, especially of places you've visited yourself. Everyone both see things and takes pictures of things in different ways, so even though you recognise a location from someone elses picture, it takes you a while to register where it is as you're looking at it from someone elses perspective.
