Mr Yuthana said the Airport Link's Express Service and City Line systems will run every 15 minutes from 6am to midnight.

The City Line will make eight stops across the capital starting from Phayathai before heading to the airport. Its fares start at 15 baht.

The Express Service is a non-stop journey between Makkasan and Suvarnabhumi and the fare is 100 baht per trip.

This video seems to be saying that the City Line runs 24 hours, whereas the Express is the one that runs from 6am to midnight. Am I hearing it right?

The official website, in English, says that the City Line runs for 24 hours and the Express runs 6am to 1am. http://airportraillink.railway.co.th/en/

Good to see that it is disabled accessible even if the website uses the word "disables"...

Thanks David. It looks like the City Line is indeed 24 hours. Often I arrive or depart in the early morning hours. Can't wait to try it.

I had a chance to use this a few times over the past 3 weeks, I like it!

It is 15 baht right now until full service in January. From the Makkasan stop by taxi to Sukhumvit Road around midnight was 65 baht. Makkasan is a pretty big empty place lat at night! However, there was a couple taxis available. The taxi I grabbed willingly used the meter with no problem.

I think if I have to use this rail link late at night again, when the Skytrain is not running, I would prefer to get off at Phaya Thai or Ratchaprarop because those areas are not so deserted.

One time I used this service during the day hours round trip and it was packed. Late at night even around 2340 it was pretty crowded too.

Until the end of December I think the City Line will also stop at midnight.

Now if the Skytrain would extend their operation a couple hours that would be a big help for travelers arriving at BKK around midnight.

Forgot to add this note, at Phaya Thai it is no problem getting from the Skytrain to the Airport Rail lLink. They have installed a connecting bridge that makes this stop very convenient for connections.

Can't understand why it is not a 24 hour service-the airport is.

Coming from Bangkok when you get off the Airport Rail Link during the day hours you are greeted by bake shops, small snack concessions and if I remember right even a Seven Eleven type store and money changer. (I should have paid more attention!)

You get on and off the train at a sub level at least a couple floors below the first floor. In January I suspect they will be on a 24 hour basis as advertised. Now if the Skytrain can extend their operating hours a little bit this will be a really good move!

On the first floor is a cheap food court, the Magic Food Court. Located near the Airport Express Bus desk. If you want to save some money on food this not a bad place to stop at.
