Question about Tea/Engagement Ceremony in Thailand
I am from Hong Kong and I am marrying a Thai guy this year. His family and himself are Thai-Chinese. We will hold a Tea/Engagement Ceremony on the wedding day in the morning. I know that after I give tea to his family and relatives, they will give us some red packets etc.. and I would like to ask, in a Thai-Chinese wedding customs, do I (as the bride) need to give anything back to his family and relatives during the ceremony? Some people told me I need to give cloth (maybe silk?) to them but I am not so sure about that. Can anyone tell me? Thanks!!

Re: Question about Tea/Engagement Ceremony in Thailand
Aren't you a Chinese as well? The locals might have their own special set of rules but most of the time, foreigners will be forgiven for neglecting these little details. Just go with the flow and be beautiful on that day. Congrats.
