Happened years ago but still funny.
Being new here I am now just able to share a funny story that is true. In Phuket a number of years back before I brought my wife here. She took me to some shopping mall. When we left the parking lot we had to pay a parking fee. She drove the scooter while I rode on the back. I stood up to pay the parking attendant and she did not realize I had done this. She figured I was sitting because she drove off and left me standing there. Well she did not notice I was not on the scooter for some time because I was standing there with the parking guards for about a half hour before she returned. While I was there I decided to help the guards out by collecting money. You should have seen the faces on the people that had to pay a parking fee and the guards and I just laughed every time someone had to pay.

Reminds me of the time my father was driving the car from Canberra to Sydney, I was in the front passenger seat and my mother was in the back, he pulled over to a service station for fuel and I went to the cashier to pay for the petrol and came back to the car, my father drove off and arrived home to find my mother was not in the back of the car, she had gone to use the toilet in the service station 100 kilometers back, well I had the receipt to the service station and called the number, I then got in my car drove about a 200 kilometer round trip to pick up my mother.

Re: Happened years ago but still funny.
On a trip to Ayuthaya we took a small boat across the moat (or some other small body of water). Father-in-law, husband, then me. I got in and turned around to get my son and lift him in when the boat took off leaving W screaming "Maaawmee, Maaawmee . . ." and me with my arms outstretched.

We did, of course, turn around immediately and get him.
Footnote: This incident was NOT funny.Last edited by Susana; 23-09-10 at 06:17 PM. Reason: add footnote

Susana,
I could imagine your heart just stop at that moment. Glad to hear everything was fine.
