Chiang Mai Floods.
Has anyone any information on how the floods in Chiang Mai are progressing,
I hope they are receding as we where there in the last major flood and had to go out from the Empress Hotel on the back of a army truck.
They took us up Chan Klan road and all the houses and business where flooded and higher up into the night market the stalls where floating.
We felt gutted for all the people that where affected by the floods and we always try to use business up Chan Klan road, Restaurants,Chemists,7.11s etc.
We are thinking about all the people of Chiang Mai.

Re: Chiang Mai Floods.
it was only a foot or so lower than flood level at Mengrai bridge (downstream from the Empress), for the second time in September. it was nasty because throughout the day it was rising 10 cm an hour. I guess they are really pushing this to the edge, trying to open and close dams and flood gates so that the most possible area is spared from the flooding. apparently, most the water from upstream was channelled to the river instead of the irrigation canal - something like that. we can just hope the water management experts are keeping us safe here in CM and elsewhere.
