One of my favourite desserts of all times, despite it being touted as a "heaty" dessert (due to the glutinous rice and mango).

Don't tell my husband. He's Filipino, and mango is his favorite food. The problem is that they are quite pricey here.

That does look nice guava, I have never tried it, but will make a point to do so on my next trip.

Hi psr, here on the West Coast of Australia the mangos are back in the supermarket but at $4 each I think they are a bit expensive.

$4 each? Wow. Right now they're $1.50 here. This is in southern California. They're just way more expensive than other things, and according to what he says way more expensive than in the Philippines. Of course, that's because they aren't grown here.

Hi psr, here on the West Coast of Australia the mangos are back in the supermarket but at $4 each I think they are a bit expensive.

I was in Karratha WA. OZ. for 2 months, verything is so expensive all I can afford is to look at, too bad there is no Thai mango there most of them come from Mexico it has sour taste because it was picked so young the seed still soft.

I live near San Diego next to border of Mexico I enjoy their raw mangoes, sometime I can catch them 4-5 for a buck .

Most of the imported fruits are picked young due to shipping time so the quality is not as good as tree ripe like in Thailand and cheap price.

now it is going out of season here in Chiang Mai so they go for 60-70 baht a kilo, both at the market and at the supermarket. just sayin'. I don't think it is ever below 25 baht a kilo or so, if you want the nice ripe juicy ones. I bought one piece today for 25 baht. I don't care how much they are, I like to have one at least twice a week.

Luckily the mangoes are no longer going for AUD4, as some of the guys here above were saying in 2010. This makes it easier to indulge in mangoes once in a blue moon. I will NEVER spend AUD4 on a single mango. Even its current going rate of AUD2 is still a bit too much for me to accept, especially after how we are accustomed to cheap and good mangoes in Southeast Asia.
