Being a older man I hope that a younger woman would date me.
I think that to great of a age difference can be a problem though. With to great a age gap interests are going to differ alot and maybe make a relationship difficult. I speak from some experiences of my own here.
Don't let age keep you from getting to know someone though. You might miss out on making a good friend. And good friends are true treasures!

asl? Yep ! I don't respond. Personally, I like to chat just for a friendly conversation. I am not " looking" as it seems quite a few are. I think, when a conversation takes place all the "asl"s come out.
I realize that those who are " looking " don't want to " waste " their time with someone who does not fit their agenda. It is my choice not to respond directly to asl . If a person does not want to chat , who cares. 5555. so be it!

Life is too short to be concerned about what other people think in certain matters, like dating an older person. It is your life, not theirs. Don't let other people destroy your happiness.

I know you are talking about dating. I'm married to a lovely man who is 30 years older than me (don't be shocked!!
but we were dating before we got married, of course. We have been together 14 years now and still happily married. Before I married him, I knew I just could not live with a man who's about the same age because we would just fight, nobody would give in. When I met my partner, I knew he's the one for me. We both knew what we were going to get ourselves into, discussed a lot about our age difference. Now he's like my friend, teacher, partner, entertainer, joke-teller, etc and we don't regret one bit. Most importantly we do care for one another very much.
Mind you, he looks much younger than his age and is very young-minded and fun-loving. I am the one acting old!!!
It doesn't matter how old/how young both parties are, we all have our differences. If you get on, can communicate with each other, have patience, respect for one another, that's what makes it work.
Live life for today!! Make the most of what brings at present, I'd say. Who knows what's going to happen tomorrow!! Que sera, sera.
