    Trekking shoes

I have a pair of Northface trekking shoes (low-model with air vents, not waterproof) which I bought in Holland and need to be replaced.

I have been looking at similar Northface shoes in malls around Bangkok, but most of them are around 4700-5700 Baht. I am not very rich at the moment and therefore I am looking for a cheaper alternative. I was hoping somebody could suggest something. My shoe size is 45-46 (11/12).

If you are going to be spending a lot of time on your feet, shoes are something you don't want to mess with. Cheap imitation shoes will result in cheap imitation feet.

Head over to Tokyu Department Store at MBK Center. They might have something on sale.

Also, most Centrals will have a sports department, separate from their shoe department. These will often have some sales on decent walking shoes.

I am also a size 45-46 and have a lot of trouble finding this size in Thailand and when I do the choice is very limited. Last month I was walking to pantip plaza and had a blow out on one of my sandals just before Platinum Fashion Mall (the big mall before Pantip, on the same side heading west on Phetchaburi road).

Platinum Mall has two floors full of shoes, I was directed to the 5th floor, it was still very difficult to find our size but the lady ran all over the place to do so.

I bought a 200baht pair of sandals and a cheap pair of runners for 800 baht. The runners are OK, very comfort for the price and they have conquered Erawan falls 3 times in 4 days….so you could try there if you have trouble finding your size elsewhere.

Thnx Fileeep and Curt for your comments.

I know shoes are important, but there must be some good trekking shoes available which cost not more than 2500 baht.
The northface that I bought in Holland were also the same price. I'll check out platinum mall and see what I can find!

By the way why did you conquere Erawan 3 times in 4 days?

    Because it was there............

Sorry mate….a bit of Sir Edmund Hillary there……………with an attraction such as Erawan Falls, you just cannot see everything in just one visit, every time you climb up to the top you see something different. I was in Kanchanaburi for just 5 days and wanted to make the most of my time there, so every day I got up as early as possible to achieve this. And my 800 baht shoes never missed a beat…..
