Floating Market - Pattaya
About 2 1/2 years ago Pattaya got its own floating market. It is off Sukhumvit Road in the direction towards Sattahip/Rayong. You either need your own transport to get there or take the bus (They have recently opened a new bus route from Pattaya and Jomtien to the floating market). I had been there once before in the evening with my friends Chai and Aod. Aod had liked it so much that he had been there again and when he suggested to go there one lunchtime I took the opportunity to take plenty of photos. On both of my visits there were not too many other visitors so that it was easy to walk around without any shoving and pushing. Although, on some occasions I wished that there a few more people around to get a better feel of the atmosphere in a busy market.
We also had a little lunch at one of the small restaurants in the market and the food was really tasty and not expensive at all. That's what I like about Thailand. You might get ripped off as a farang when you have to pay an entrance fee, but the food is usually good and inexpensive, unlike at some attractions in the West where it already costs an arm and a leg just to smell the cooking oil and the food is often of a poor standard.
This is a floating market build as an attraction for tourists, not for local people to do their daily shopping. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant place to while away a few hours during an afternoon.
They also have got their own website: http://www.pattayafloatingmarket.com/

Re: Floating Market - Pattaya
It's always nice to see a few more floating markets. Probably TAT figured out that it is a big tourist magnet
It sure will be, if the restaurants there stay tasty and at economical prices (since food is after all, the key to any person's heart!) !
Sleep, little one, close your eyes, mother will sing you a lullaby... Sleep in a jewel cradle, sleep, mother will rock you.
If you don't sleep the midges will go for your eyes and pollen will fall on the cradle....Sleep, close your eyes...
