I'm very into Thai women :)
Hey guys my name is Jay, and I'm new here. I'm getting out of the Marine Corps soon and I'm getting this job that will constantly have me travelling to Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, etc. First of all, by the way, I want to state that I'm NOT a sex tourist and I am NOT going on a "Sex trip" ...I skimmed through of the threads on here and I see that they are not welcome here lol. Also, I'm not looking for a booty call, I'm actually interested in meeting someone and getting to know them.
Anyways, I was wondering if Thai women would be into me at all. I am Hispanic (my family is from Dominican Republic) and pretty tanned. I was born and raised in the United States. I've got nice hair, I'm pretty fit due to being in the Marine Corps. I'm not trying to be cocky, overconfident, or full of myself but I think I'm a pretty attractive and handsome guy. I'm not anything like Brad Pitt or anything, or God's gift to women lol. I'm not that old, I'm only 24 years old. I think that financially I do pretty well. I'm a very open minded and curious person. I value things like honesty and respect. I have a well disciplined personality, yet I like to have fun. I'm very responsible and I can be sensitive to other people's needs. I'm a pretty decent dancer too, I can dance merengue, bachata, salsa, and reggaeton. Some hip-hop too.
So are Thai women into that kind of guy? I read somewhere on the internet that Thai women are really only into White guys and that they don't like tanned or dark guys. I can find the article online that I read it off of if you like. I made a thailovelinks.com account, but I never really got any responses from women so I didn't renew my gold membership. I wasn't really expecting anything from the website, just trying to figure out a little bit of something about thai women before I go to Thailand.
I'm pretty anxious and nervous, yet excited about going to Thailand. I've always wanted to go, and I heard the cuisine was great! I love spicy food! Anyways, let me know what you guys think. Here is a picture of me just so you guys can get a better idea of what I'm talking about. Once again, I'm not trying to sound cocky. I know I'm not Brad Pitt or anything and I'm not the hottest guy anyone has ever seen. I'm just trying to be honest, and I want to know if I have a shot with a decent girl while in Thailand. For those who give their input, negative or positive, thanks alot peoples! By the way, this picture is like 2 years old, but I still look the same.

Re: I'm very into Thai women :)
HI
If you are as honest as your post says then you should have no problem the world over finding a GF.
the problem wth many of the internet dateing sites is many of the women are looking for security not really love.
as my wise teenage son once told me "he is now 31" Dad stop trying so hard to find a GF and one will show up.
he was right. only took me 15 yrs LOL.
don't worry so much you are young enjoy your life and career but always leave yourself open if the right girl shows up unexpected
If you are working in thailand. then you will probably be around more typical upper working class thai ladys.
Just treat them with respect "like you would want someone to treat your sister" and you should have no problem.
as women are basicly the same every where.
who knows once you get to thailand and are around Thai women you might not find them so fascinating any more.

Be on the constant lookout for budget airfare. Unless you are prepared to sit out 2- to 3-day-long train journeys that connect from Singapore or Malaysia to Bangkok. There's the bus connecting SG to Malaysia to Hatyai too, but it's very long journey. My friend said it's worth the hours cos she got to see things differently compared to being on a flight, but probably you won't have the time to sit out the 24 or more hours of bus ride too.

You may find the podcast titled "Thai online dating" useful for you, as the people being the series are Western expats. I have not listened to this particular episode yet (it's in my Itunes library but am just too busy lately) but found most of the other ones quite informative and interesting. Sometimes they can be pretty tongue in cheek so it's fun to listen to as well. Have fun.

Kudos for providing the the link of bangkokpodcast. It does look interesting to me and if I have the time (especially work, yesterday was chaotic). I will definitely watch it for sure.

To save time, you may like to subscribe and syn it directly from your pc into your smart phone while you work - free, fun entertainment on the go. Good for those bus or train journeys.

Re: I'm very into Thai women :)
Could I be pardon for the forumers to allow me to go sidetrack? Thanks and I appreciate it

Actually I did manged to download an apps in android market call BeyondPod. I'm suprised was that this app does give me the hassle of going through PC and instead it download and listen to podcasts/video casts directly on my smartphone. If you have google email, you can syn with all the RSS feeder and through google reader. Last but not least, does the podcast in bangkokpodcast have video or just the voice only?
For a clearer view, here are the video and the link and explanations.

Re: I'm very into Thai women :)
Hi Jason, if it's a video podcast, there will be a tiny icon the shape of a TV next to the title of the podcast in the podcast directory, as how it is in the Thailandnet podcast I posted in the "Things To Do In Khon Kaen" thread...Gd luck.

Re: I'm very into Thai women :)
Hi peiyan, thanks and I did managed to use the apps in android market call BeyondPod to add in Bangkok Podcast without the use of PC to do the sync. At first I was confused as all the podcast in Bangkok Podcast did reflected as as music icon instead of a tiny TV next to the title of the podcast. So I thought podcast is just limited to music and without video. Anyway does Bangkok Podcast have video?
Once again, I give my heartiest thanks for the sidetrack and patience of understanding...Franklin D. Roosevelt - The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.
