    Ayutthaya daytrip

I would like to take a trip to Ayuthaya for the day. Can you suggest a good tour. Money is not a big deal. Wouldn't mind taking the river back. I have art background though and don't want it to be too touristy and dull.

    Thanks

    Dave

The Chao Phraya Express Boat company do a tour every Sunday. Departs Maharaj Pier a 8 a.m. and returns at 6 p.m.

Adults: 350 baht roundtrip and 250 baht one way
Children: 250 baht round trip and 150 baht one way

Doesn't include admission to Arts and Crafts Centre and Summer Palace (150 baht)

Sawadeethailand.com has a page on river and canal trips, among which include a
table of organizers of cruises along the Chao Phraya River, points of departure, time and price.

It also has a description of what you can expect to see on the trip.

    A proposal for something different:

For a waterway tour route that many tourists are not aware of is this
Klong Bangkok Noi-Klong Bang Yai (Nonthaburi)trip. Along its lengthty trip you'll be able to visit the Royal Barge Museum and see a variety of wat(temples) showing architectural differences of Sukothai, Ayudhya and Rattanakosin periods.
