Help - making plans for Thailand

Hello! We are off to Thailand on the 18th, and we are hoping to get an opinion on what we've put together for a plan.

We are concerned about the weather in the south-west due to the monsoon season (i.e. we are not sure if going to Krabi / PhiPhi is worth it in May)...

May 19th - Arrive in Bangkok, fly to Krabi
May 19th - Arrive in Krabi find hotel or go direct to PhiPhi
    May 20th - Krabi / PhiPhi
May 21st - Krabi / PhiPhi -> Take train to Hua Hin
    May 22nd - Hua Hin
    May 23rd - Hua Hin
May 24th - Hua Hin -> Take Train To Bangkok
May 25th - Use Bangkok as base and visit surrounding sites
May 26th - Use Bangkok as base and visit surrounding sites
May 27th - Use Bangkok as base and visit surrounding sites
May 28th - Shop in Bangkok and visit city sites
May 29th - Shop in Bangkok and visit city sites
    May 30th - Depart Bangkok

    Any opinions are appreciated!!

    Welcome to Thailand

First of all let me inform you that there is no train station in Krabi so from there if you want to take train then you will have to take bus to Suratthani first.

About the monsoon yes it starts in May so you may want to consider to go to the islands in Gulf of Thailand instead for example Koh Tao, Koh Nangyuan, Koh Phangan, Koh Samui.
If you are into diving Koh Tao and Nangyuan is one of the best diving points in Thailand.
For koh Samui you can fly directly from Bangkok to Samui and on the way back you can also fly directly from Samui to Hua Hin according to your plan.

    Best regards,
    Neung

    Hi sukoto,
They are having fighting and violence in the deep South. The Muslims have warned foreignors to stay away. If you have white skin, you might want to think about that.

    Hi,

Actually the violence is far from Krabi and Phi Phi I just came back from Phi Phi last week and situation there is clearly safe.
The fighting areas are in 4 border provinces next to Malaysia.
Don't worry about going to Phuket or Krabi. It is as safe as other parts of Thailand
