(1)"Bua Loi" has two meanings: “Floating Lotus” and a kind of dessert involving a cup of sweet coconut milk with little chewy balls floating in it. Maybe the name has become more common since the song.
(2) My foreign exchange student believes that Khun Aed is referring to himself by a nickname, “Nohk,” that Bua-Loi would know him by. He is saying “Do you know that Nohk thinks of you?”
(3) A category for the draft.
(4) This line translates “Is a person ‘nàk ao bao sôo.’” “Nàk ao bao sôo” refers to a Thai proverb.
(5) Bua-Loi’s last words are “Krai bpen arai?”
(6) This is about Buddhism. Some kinds of “lotus” are low, but Bua-Loi has jumped from a low level to a high level because of his good life, and so is freer.

Notes: I heard Khun Aed say he wrote this song about a friend who died. This one wasn’t easy. In particular, Bua-Loi’s last words don’t translate well into English. He said “Krai bpen arai.” Corrections/adjustments/suggestions welcome. Feel free to copy and use at another site.
