Report Chat Box Problem and some suggestions from me

When I'm trying to log into the Chat Box, I keep getting logged out due to an "invalid IP address" message.
I tried to diagnose the problem. I found that Domain/IP checker, embedded script in the Chat Box, doesn't work properly.
Especially, IP addresses from other countries which the server was not set up.
So, I suggest the solution to solve this problem.

Go to Chat Box module file located.

Edit lib/config.php and set $ajaxChatConfig['ipCheck'] to false:

to disable ip checking script.
See if it works.

If this feature is disabled, will it mean that mods can no longer check IPs of chatters?

It will. But it's a mistake from coding the module.
I'm not sure that you concern about "Ban IP' feature, may cause the feature malfunction? Since the feature has already malfunctioned. LOL

If a trouble maker in chat signs up using a different username Moderators need to check their IPs to confirm they are the same person.

Sorry, it's not clear to me what you meant by the above. Can you please explain.

I assumed that mod. will use the feature to ban trouble makers by checking and comparing their IPs. Of course, if the feature's closed. Mod. will not able to check their IPs from the module's functions. Unfortunately, there're so many ways to hide their IPs or change or even become American people, the easiest way is applying some proxies.

We have now disabled the ipCheck in the config. Please give it a try.

The ipCheck function has nothing to do with banning or viewing someone''s IP for the Mods. It just checks that the IP in the stored session has not changed. This is for security reasons so that the session could not be stolen by an other user (with an other ip), but if it makes too much problems we will let this function turned off.
