Thai QWERTY mobile phone keypad layout
I've noticed that on QWERTY mobile phone , the Thai alphabets keypad layout / arrangement differ from one manufacturer to another . My question is , why is this so ? I thought there must be a standard they have to follow in the keypad layout .

Re: Thai QWERTY mobile phone keypad layout
The Thai alphabet is not like the English alphabet where people have been used to one keyboard system, the QWERTY layout.
In Thai, actually there are two standard layouts considered by Windows, which are Kedmanee and Pattachote.
But these systems are mainly used for computers. Manufacturers actually choose the layout that they think will be comfortable to press or tap for their customers depending on the phone shape and type. That is probably why layouts for Thai looks different on any phone.

Re: Thai QWERTY mobile phone keypad layout
Thanks for the answer . I'd used LG , Nokia and Samsung . Each time i changed the phone i have to memorised the keypad all over again . Now i'm stucked with the Thai brand I-Mobile . Which in my opinion is the easiest so far to switch between Thai and roman alphabets .
