Re: leaving on a jet plane

I've spent many hours in the Seattle Airport, already tired after traveling from North Carolina. But then I've never traveled to Thailand without young excited children- at least one who always had an earache on take off and landing. Ah, the memories!

Next trip (maybe) I'll bring no little children, but a couple books instead. "Don't know when I'll be back again . . ."

    Have a wonderful trip!

Re: leaving on a jet plane

I have flown with Korean Air 3 times. For me this airline is unremarkable, and so is the food served on board. But Incheon International Airport of Korea is something else. It enjoys a full 5-star status and a distinction of being "Best Airport in the World" for 2006-2010. I have never had enough time to tour its facilities thoroughly but this huge airport boasts of lovely indoor gardens, museum showcasing Korean culture, spa, golf course, ice skating rink, casino, etc.

Next time I intend to allow more time (and energy!--as I tend to always come huffin' and puffin' to the airport) to see more of it.

Hope you enjoy your trip, Khonrai!

Re: leaving on a jet plane

    Hi
My wife is in massage school in Roi-Et
after 40hrs I finally meet up with my wife in Roi et.. but today is my first day to rest.

As soon as I got to Roi et went to the big Fair they are haveing stayed until 1 am watching the free concert
it was all big Thai Issan stars.you see them all the time on Thai TV and YOu tube
non stop singing with a hundred dancers and comedy between acts I don't know if you have every seen a concert like these
they do not stop they do not have any intermission they just go on for hrs.

after a few hrs sleep up and off to her village to visit family and friends her village is about 70 kilo's away.
spent the night in her house but no one has lived there in over a yr so had to do a little cleaning and turn power and water on.
I did this while wife went to hospital to visit her mom. nothing serious..
next morning breakfast with son and his new wife at daughter in laws home
then back to visit her mom some more before heading back to roi-et
her brother drove us back with a nephew and niece so we could all go to fair again on sunday night
a totaly different show this time much more comedy and more dancers and many ladyboys singing with traditional thai coustumes.
we meet up with some of my wifes friends from school they all wanted to see her farang.
we got home at 1 AM wife went to school late this morning.

so i am resting at apt surfing the web useing wifes 3G card not that fast thou Apt has wifi but I haven't gotten the security code yet
watching Thai TV drinking Ice tea.

Not that bad of an apt hot shower air con cable TV, Wifi furnished for 3500 baht a month

I need to go to tesco Lotus soon buy some stuff for apt and find food.
so will hang out here during the week then try and do some local trips on weekends

Korean air was OK the food was decent service fine good movies and IVOD system
I had no layover time just made connecting flight i was next to last to board as the seattle fight left late. on my return trip i have a 9 hr layover but Korean is giving me a hotel room during the layover.

Leaving on a jet plane by "John Denver" or "Peter Paul & Mary" who do you prefer.

Re: leaving on a jet plane

John Denver wrote it, but I prefer Peter, Paul, and Mary's version.

Sorry, Khonrai, for being off topic. It was just too tempting to talk about the song.

I think it's great that your wife is studying to be a massage therapist. Does she plan to go into business for herself, or perhaps work at a spa?

Oh im so jelous, what a great price, when i stay in Thailand, Phuket is 10k a month and Pattaya is 8k a month all in, Air con, Wi fi and so on,and they dont really want me to have these prices!, yes i like the best of both, tourist and real thailand,

but this gives me hope as your rent cost are great,as i was really starting to think all of Thailand was starting to crank up the prices.
On the song, The Palmy version is great, but the Denver one is tops for leaving on a jet plane.
