    Hi all,

Thinking of going to Kanchanaburi next month. What's interesting & nice there? And how do I get there?

I heard from my thai friend that I can actually approach any tour agency in BKK and book with them. The agency will provide all the necessary transportation & accomodation. And I heard that Kanchanaburi is meant for tourist and they charge tourist less than Thai people. Is that true? What's the cheapest package available, anyone knows?

Anyone has been there and have any pictures to share?

    Hi strangerdoom,

Though "next month" is already here, in case you haven't
been to kanchanaburi yet, maybe this info can help you.
I suggest you spend at least 2 night there.
There are many fine guest houses and hotels and cheap
    prices as well.
You can get there from Bangkok by bus or by train
(bus will be faster). also - there are many guest houses
offering an airconditioned minivan for around 100 baht one
    way.

The place is relaxing and pastoral, especially if you are
    located by the river.

you can take a daily tour the the beautiful Erawan waterfalls,
visit the HellFire pass and world-war II museum. Such a tour
in an airconditioned minivan costs around 600 baht including lunch.

you can also take a tour to the tiger temple, or do some
    elephant riding.

    Enjoy!

it\'s my party and I\'ll cry if I want to.

Yes, you can join a one day trip from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi. You can either do it by yourself or part of a tour.

    Click for tours

If you join this tour then you won't get time for much more than visiting the bridge. There are waterfalls a little further north-east. You can join day tours from Kanchanaburi that include bamboo rafting, elephant ride and a visit to Erawan Waterfalls. I would advise that if you have the time you stay in Kanchanaburi for a minimum of 3 days two nights.
