Hi Ian ... Its not the cement mixers ... I live in a road which I've named "Hole Road" .... Not to bad in the truck ... But on the scooter !!!! Oh ... I only know its called Songkran because I have it written on my calendar next to the computer ...Lol

I don't ride Scooters in big Thai Cities or ever at night. Always book a seat near the middle of the large buses and don't take sleeper buses ... unless you are really desperate, or are stuck somewhere. Taxis may be a bit more expensive, but generally are safer. I ride Song Teows a lot and seldom have seen them in accidents. The scariest bus & moto taxis rides that I've ever had, were in Hanoi. Jez, that was scary! The density of Scooters is astounding. I rented a Moto Taxi guy for 2 days for around $50. I figured he was safer. I bought my own helmet and left it as a tip.
