Re: Treat Yourself to an Egg Tart !
I agree, YY. After all, doesn't taking the egg out of egg tart render it meaningless?
Kinda like me scraping the meringue off my lemon meringue pie, which I usually do on those rare occasions when I indulge.
Ever have key lime pie? Yummm. Key lime pie. No meringue to spoil the lime flavor. I like a recipe made with lime jello and fat free key lime yogurt to which I always add extra lime juice, in a graham cracker crust. Great on a hot summer day. Need I say more?

haha, true, true...
Hmmm, key lime pie... sounds yumz though I haven't got a clue about its taste... ^^Sleep, little one, close your eyes, mother will sing you a lullaby... Sleep in a jewel cradle, sleep, mother will rock you.
If you don't sleep the midges will go for your eyes and pollen will fall on the cradle....Sleep, close your eyes...

YY, I think you can make it with tofu. I'll look for a recipe and post it here if I find one.
I once made a cheesecake (tofu cake?) with tofu. It was pretty good. Then I stopped eating tofu.

Re: Treat Yourself to an Egg Tart !
I was surprised to find several recipes. I choose the one from www.keylimeshop.com because it uses fewer ingredients than the others. Click on 'recipes' and you'll find it under 'desserts'.
The use of soy in the diet is rather a controversial topic. I chose to err on the side of caution. I know several women who have had breast cancer. All their doctors tell them not to use soy. Ironically, soy is promoted as a anti-cancer and also heart healthy food. I don't know if the doctors are referring to soy supplements specifically, or if they include all soy. I think each person needs to make his/her own decision based on needs and research. I may decide tofu is ok for me. I just need to do more research. Honestly speaking, I don't really like it all that much. I ate it in Thailand, but I can't make it taste like what I ate there, so I haven't taken the time to research more.
There have been discussions on this forum which you might be able to find.
