A friend of mine just returned from Thailand and would love to know what this sign says:

สูตรโบราณ = Ancient Recipe (Old-fashioned Thai-Style)

(ท่าเรือเทเวศร์) = "Ta Ruea Tewet" = Tewet Pier (I think it's a Boat Pier in Bangkok)

ราคา = Price

5 บาท = 5 Baht

โค๊ก = "Coke" = The Coca Cola-Logo in Thai Script

The "engrish" is horrific!

They even spelled "baht" as "bath". That’s quite possibly the Thai word most translated into English in the entire country; yet somehow they spelled it worng, errr, wrong. ..

Given the "ting-lish" I see on signage all the time; evidently proof-reading isn't "skill-set" that’s all that much sought after.

You are so right Tod, sometimes I wonder why they don't ask any Farang around to translate or recheck - even a non-native English Speaker would do a 1000% better than any "Engrish"-speaking Thai Native from "Nakhon Nowhere" 5555555
