Clay Flower Art of Thailand
Hello Thai friends,
Greetings to you!
My name is seems(F) and I am from Bangalore.
I am fascinated with this amazing art of thailand....Making CLay Flowers with thai clay !!
I want to know more about this art....want to learn it and also want to buy some local thai clay to try my hands with this beautifull art. I dont want to go through websites, as they are preety expensive because of brand of products.
Can anyone of you please guide me to some local thai people from whome I can buy this clay and try flower making....I would be thankfull if you can advise me of any such thai clay supplier from whome I can buy locally.

I've seen Thai clay art. I believe it is available in shops which sell hand crafted items and also in some tourist shops. The clay is often said to be from Baan Chang where there was a significant archaeological find several years ago. Besides flowers, I have seen clay figures of people in domestics scenes, such as sitting on the floor weaving, etc. At one time necklaces and earrings made of the clay was quite popular.
Personally, I think the design is the most important thing and you don't necessarily need clay from Thai soil. Once you have your design in mind you can use clay from anywhere.
