I've seen Thai clay art. I believe it is available in shops which sell hand crafted items and also in some tourist shops. The clay is often said to be from Baan Chang where there was a significant archaeological find several years ago. Besides flowers, I have seen clay figures of people in domestics scenes, such as sitting on the floor weaving, etc. At one time necklaces and earrings made of the clay was quite popular.

Personally, I think the design is the most important thing and you don't necessarily need clay from Thai soil. Once you have your design in mind you can use clay from anywhere.

    Good luck.
