Ten Day Retreat (spiritual/meditation)
Hi all,
A link for those interested in a mediation retreat, geared for foreigners (I think?). And on that note, does anyone know where this place is? I've only been in Bangkok for a year:

I've been looking for something like this, where you can actually get away on a retreat ..more than simply visiting temples etc.
Just a quick thought ..interesting how so many are in Thailand to get away from their country, or for the cheap cost of living, the islands or whatever it might be ...which is also fine : ) But for me the only thing ..or fundamental thing that colours my world is my own inner growth.
I like to think of my life as 'living from the inside out', rather than the outside in (if that makes sense?). Once I've got the 'inner' right, it doesn't matter where I live, Bangkok, Britian or Bombay ...I'll be happy ; )

Dhamma is wonderful. But those who understand it best are those who act on their own.
Dean1973, you will know when you practice there by own.
Dhamma bless you!

Re: Ten Day Retreat (spiritual/meditation)
Visakha Puja day falls on the 6th full moon of the Lunar calendar year, usually in May, but in June this year. It's the holiest of the Buddhist holidays as it celebrates the Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and death (parinibbana), which all occurred on the same day according to the Pali cannon.
This is the most important of the Uposatha (full or new moon days) on which devoted lay followers will go to the temple and take the 8 precepts and generally practice from the evening chanting until dawn of the following morning.Last edited by bassai; 09-05-12 at 12:09 PM.
