Summer thunderstorm warnings

The Meteorological Department on Sunday issued a warning at 11.30am for people in the North and Northeast to beware of severe weather caused by summer thunderstorms.

The warning said a high pressure area from China has covered upper Thailand while hot to very hot weather is occurring all over the country.

During April 22-23, there will likely be isolated summer thunderstorms, gusts and hail, especially in the North and Northeast.

Southwesterly winds are still causing scattered thundershowers over the Andaman Sea and the South.
