I know one meaning of Lor means handsome.

What about other meaning?

I had this conversation "555 jing lor ka"

I assume my friend was saying "haha, really?"

i replied "jing~"

then she replied "lor ka" what does it mean in this context?

Hi Coregunner,

you see, that's the trouble with Transliteration/Romanization as there are so many different Systems and based on the limited way to transliterate Words, one written Word in Transliteration/Romanization can have many complete different meanings in Thai - so out of Context it sometimes is very hard to tell what Word is really meant.

So to be 100% sure it's always good to know how to read/write Thai Script or at least have it somewhere written, because with Thai Script there are all misunderstandings eliminated.

But I will give it a try and start with a simple one from your Example Sentences.

"Ka" = this probably means the Female Polite Particle which you can put at the end of every Sentence if you wish to make it sound more softer and polite; in Thai Script it would be ค่ะ (for a Declaration/Statement Sentence) and คะ (for a Interrogative Sentence).

You probably already know that as a Male Speaker you use "Khrap" ครับ as the Polite Particle.

Thais have many Particles to put at the end of a sentence or somewhere else.

So one Particle that is used like a Question when you seek Confirmation is

"Rue" = หรือ sometimes this even changes to "Roe" เหรอ which has the same meaning.

Due to Dialect, Slang or whatever this "Roe" เหรอ changes to "Loe" เหลอ quite often as Thai like to make an "R" sound more like an "L".

So your example "Lor Ka" is in fact the "Loe Ka" เหลอคะ - Question Particle with Female Polite Particle which seeks for Confirmation.

Like in English if you would say:

"Tomorrow I will go to the Movie."

"Oh really?" = "Loe Ka" ?

Now for the 5555555 - the Number "5" in Thai is pronounced "Ha" ห้า, so if you put many 555555 it sound like Laughing "HaHaHaHa" and is Chat Style if something is funny, maybe the English Equivalent would be "LOL".

"Jing" จริง means "really"

So for "5555 jing lor ka" = Sound of Laughter + "Oh really" + Female Polite Particle

"Ba" is probably the Thai Word บ้า which means "crazy, mad, insane"

But in the Chat Context you explained it is more used in a funny teasing way amongst friends;

so "55555 ba lo" means something like = Sound of Laughter + are you crazy (in a funny teasing way)

This is not extraordinary, has no insulting meaning and is used amongst friends quite often.
