What is Sam Cha (3 Cha), the musical style?
Hi, can anyone tell me what is Sam Cha? I know this musical style by example. That is, I could probably recognize a Sam Cha song, but I can't find an official definition on the Internet. Also, how did it get that name? It is dance music, right, so maybe it shares a name with "Cha Cha Cha" the Cuban musical style, without having much else in common? Can anyone enlighten me?

I found my answer belatedly on in an article on Wikipedia: "The song featured the distinctive "Samcha" rhythm, a kind of mix of Northeastern Thai folk rhythms like Mo Lam and Luk Thung with Latin beats."

Thanks for sharing the Answer to your own Question - hope more would do so as it might help other Members as well.
I must admit that I did some Research as well after reading your Post, but unfortunately couldn't find a satisfying Answer - first thing I thought of was this famous Comedy Show "Gang Sam Cha".My interesting blog about Thailand at Thailand Blog ---> click here
