    Yellow chicken

Could someone please explain to me about the yellow chicken on sale in the market in phang nga. Why is it so yellow? is some type of dye use and if why? Is the chicken skin naturally this color?

Maybe it was marinated in oil which gave it that saturated golden yellow colour?

Do you mean the chicken buried in rice? If so, it is a Southern Thai Muslim dish called Khao Mok Gai (ข้าวหมกไก่) and the yellow colour comes from the Tumeric used in the recipe.

Guava's right. The yellow comes from tumeric. You only get that bright yellow from 2 types of spices, saffron or tumeric. Saffron is rarely used because it's quite expensive, the most expensive spice in the world.
