Do you think we will ever get to find the truth?

    Re: Senator 'accidentally' kills secretary

    And here is another version:

A Thai senator who shot his ex-wife at the dinner table with an Uzi 9mm pistol said Tuesday that her death was a tragic accident.

Boonsong Kowawisarat, 56, said the gun went off while he was trying to remove a stuck bullet, fatally injuring 46-year-old Chanakarn Detkard, who was also his secretary.

"It was my gun. I showed her the gun that I had bought for her. She lived with her mother and our two daughters -- there are only women in her place -- so I wanted her to have it as I'm worried about them," he told AFP by telephone.

"My hand is not in good condition. I am ill. I had a stroke," he said. "It was an accident."

    Re: Senator 'accidentally' kills secretary

Being a amateur collector of firearms myself I can't help but to find this story very difficult to imagine. I would have liked to see the politician demonstrate and re-enact how exactly he was trying to remove a live bullet and yet the pin still be able to strike the cartridge. To top it all off while "removing" the bullet had the barrel pointed directly at his wife? When a bullet is stuck the gun is almost always pointed downward to remove a casing, any other angle makes it very difficult to do. I would never say that a politician is a liar, but to see the person demonstrate the scene would be interesting. Lastly, I have never had a jam on an Uzi and that is what is the most intriguing part to me. I'd venture to guess the manufacturer of this Uzi would be just as curious how this could have happened.

It's people like this Senator that give responsible gun owners a bad reputation.
