Dozens of Tourists Injured When a Bridge Collapsed at a Floating Market

A bridge at Ayothaya Floating Market in Ayutthaya collapsed late on Sunday afternoon throwing dozens of people into the water. Luckily no-one was seriously hurt. The incident happened while people were watching a show at the market. A loud splintering sound was heard and then the bridge suddenly collapsed. Ayothaya Floating Market is a popular place for both Thai and foreign tourists at the weekend. You can read more about it on my blogs. These pictures were taken by Saowaluk Satichob and posted on her Facebook page minutes after the event happened.

Noticed this on your Twitter posts yesterday- searched a few of the newspapers for a report-and found none-all too busy with the floods.
