What is the most unusual food you've ever tried in Thailand?

Just wondering about unusual food items, visitors and locals have tried in Thailand. One thing I used to eat often is coconut flavor ice cream on a bun ( hamburger bun to be exact ) First, the bun in cut half way then sticky rice ( sweeten as it's cooked in coconut milk ) is added, lotus seeds, caramelized pumpkin slices, topped with a few scoops of ice cream, and a dash of crusted-roasted peanut and lastly, evaporated milk. I don't find this to be unusual but many people said it was LOL
Tell me,what you've tried or planning to try.
    Enjoy Eating!

siamruby, that is one of my favorites. Since people think it is unusual, so maybe my next one could be unusual also. In summer at home we love to make shaved ice topped over crunchy toast then topping with milk and syrup. It is heaven ^^

Siamruby, I want to eat what you described in your post, minus the bun. I love the home made coconut ice cream in Thailand, and since our ice cream here hardly qualifies as real food, I indulge whenever I have the opportunity to eat real ice cream. I don't think it would be too unusual tasting, though, just very yummy!

I'll have to think about something else which I had in Thailand which I thought was unusual, and post it later.

Rori : That sound good also,I had something similar except it was thick pieces of bread rather than toast. It was soggy after soaked in milk and strawberry flavor syrup, yummy though
Susana : Haha...all my american friends agree with you, they'll try it minus the bun LOL

I've had bbq rat, deep fried baby frogs, deep fried baby rats, flying ants on vine leaves, more different kinds of bugs than you can count. But when in Bangkok my wife gave me ice cream on a bun that was too strange and I had to say no thank you!

I love my coke with a dash of salt, and that is thought unusual or watermelon with salt. Things simply taste better with salt.

Most people don't believe me when I say pineapple is great with salt. Try it and see!

A little salt on fruit often makes it taste sweeter. My favorite local summertime fruits are strawberries and canteloupe. I sprinkly my canteloupe with salt, but not my strawberries.

My mom used to put salted peanuts in her Pepsi, back when they came in a bottle. I always thought it was the weirdest thing.

I guess the most unusual thing I've eaten in Thailand would have to be fried silk worms. They are quite good too
