After doing the sites, we just sat and people watched. Primary school children, on an educational visit, approached Me, and practised their English. And we saw a REAL train !!

Re: Thirteen Hotels in 28 days !! My Holiday in Thailand

    Changed Plan due to "Shutdown".

We departed Kanchanaburi and headed to Jintanas home in Pathumthani, to replenish her luggage, and re-arrange mine. Her relations are always buying me gifts (Shirts, T-shirts and stuff) so my original plan to have only hand luggage returning, was not possible.
As it turned out, I was over my weight limit, when checking in for my return, and had to remove 1 bag containing "Summer shirts" that probably, I will not need in Ireland !! :-)

Our original plan was to stay near Chatachak .... for 4 nights. Too near areas that we heard mention, on news reports, when we occasionaly listened to the News. Traffic and other elements, could have spoilt what has been, a brilliant Adventure!

So we went to the nearest Beach ! Four nights of R&R, people watching, motorbikes (?) and more.

Bang Saen Beach, Chonburi. Not the cleanest in Thailand, but with the facilities of the Tide Resort, we lazed more by the pool, than on the beach. Excursions to floating market in Pattaya, and a motor bike festival near the hotel, were our only excursions.

Neither do I, except for an occasional thimble of wine. Still, I sometimes go to the liquor store with my husband to pick out the most attractive bottle of whatever he's after.

    Final night.

Again, due to the "Shutdown", wanted to be safer than sorry, and had booked my last night, near the airport.
Returning our Rental car to Suvarnabhumi Airport, we were picked up by the courtesy transport, and taken to Suvarnabhumi Suites Hotel, nearby. Standard accomodation with a fancy name.

    Room with a view!

Re: Thirteen Hotels in 28 days !! My Holiday in Thailand

Great story and fantastic pics! You really got to see a lot of Thailand in such a short time.

I generally try to hit no more than 3 different cities/regions when my wife and I spend a month in Thailand.
Just setting up transportation and hotel reservations for 3 or 4 cities is complicated enough for me!

I'm working on my next trip (in December and January) and we plan on Chiang Mai, wife's hometown for New Years, Phuket, Krabi, and back to wife's hometown for MIL's 80th birthday, and back to BKK. Just getting all that sorted out is a lot of work (and expense), I couldn't imagine putting together your itinerary.

I'm glad you had a great trip. It must be very painful to leave your Thai family. That is the worst part of visiting Thailand for my wife and me.

Again, thanks for sharing your story and pictures.

    RickThai
