Re: Help writing name in Thai
I think you didn't understand, the way you told is not a pronunciation, it is only dividing into syllables.
An "a" can be pronounced different depending what mother language you speak.
So you have to say for example "a-thi" like the Movie "A-Team" without the "m".My interesting blog about Thailand at Thailand Blog ---> click here

Re: Help writing name in Thai
Harihta Halsa & Athirah Aslah.
I still confuse about your explanation, it was unclear. This is some guide for you..
- Which one is Halsa pronounced, hul(short sound) or haaaal(long sound), sa(short sound) or saaa(long sound) ?
- Which one is Harihta pronounced, haaaa(long sound, similar Malay) or ha(same as haaaa but very short sound) or hair-rih-ta?
- Which one is Athirah pronounced, aaaa(long sound, similar Malay) or aa(same as aaaa but very short sound) or air-thi-rah?
- Which one is Aslah pronounced, us(short sound) or aaaas(long sound) or as(same as 'as' in English)-lah?
Pardon me, does any word in Athirah or Aslah is pronounced vowel like your god name.. Allah?
Why are Muslim names more complicated than European name?
Because some Muslim's vowel can't be written in English, but you can do in Thai.. such as -Ö , -× , à-×Í , or à-ÒÐ
Without enough information, your name might be incorrect from original sound,
eg. Halsa can be written ÎÑÅ«Ð, ÎÑÅ«èÒ, ÎÒÅ«Ð, or ÎÒÅ«èÒ
