Isn't it the republicans that are supposed to be mean spirited?

We'll most likely never know how many come to these events with ill intentions, how many come to peacefully protest, and how many stroll over from their own neighborhood out of curiosity.

Trump launches all-out attack on the press

    By Jeremy Diamond, CNN
Updated 5:14 AM ET, Wed June 1, 2016

New York (CNN)Donald Trump on Tuesday went on a sustained frontal assault against the media during a contentious news conference.

The billionaire had called the news conference to announce an accounting of his at least $5.6 million in fundraising for veterans groups, but spent most of the 40 minutes criticizing and insulting reporters -- collectively and at times individually -- as "dishonest," "not good people," sleazy, and among the worst human beings he has ever met.
And he vowed the White House briefing room would be just as combative as the Trump Tower lobby, where the developer addressed reporters Tuesday, should he ascend to the Oval Office.

"Yeah, it is going to be like this," Trump said when asked if this is how he would behave with the press as president. "You think I'm gonna change? I'm not gonna change."
At one point, Trump fumed: "I'm the only one in the world who can raise almost $6 million for the veterans, have uniform applause by the veterans groups, and end up being criticized by press."

"I think the political press is among the most dishonest people that I have ever met, I have to tell you. I see the stories, and I see the way they're couched," he added.
Trump: Sessions 'absolutely' to be considered for VP
The news conference did not mark a radical departure from Trump's relationship with the press, which has been strained throughout the brash mogul's year-long campaign -- but Tuesday was a surprise escalation, especially at a time when many supporters want him to start acting more presidential.
Over the last year, Trump has repeatedly called out individual reporters on Twitter and in interviews for everything from what he viewed as insufficient crowd camera shots to biased reporting. And attacking the press is a regular part of the presumptive Republican nominee's stump speech, during which he typically rips reporters as "scum," "slime," "dishonest" and "disgusting" — often prompting jeers from the crowd.

How Donald Trump May Have Wasted A Monthlong Advantage Over Hillary Clinton
    June 19, 20166:00 AM ET

Donald Trump has taken an unlikely path to winning the GOP nomination for president. And now he's taking an unusual approach to campaigning for the general election that could cost him dearly.

The billionaire businessman effectively clinched his party's nomination a full month before Democrat Hillary Clinton did the same. But Trump spent much of the month of May campaigning in states that won't help him win the 270 electoral votes he needs in November.

Yes, the California primary and contests in other Western states still loomed. But he was unopposed in those GOP contests, and many Republicans wished he had taken the head start to pivot to the general election — and start focusing on critical swing states. Instead, Trump seemed obsessed with a notion that he could run up the score and expand the map — putting into play states that haven't gone for Republicans in almost three decades.

"The Trump campaign starts the general election at an organizational disadvantage," said Ryan Williams, who was a spokesman for Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign. "This is a candidate who won by the sheer strength of his personality and bluster instead of through a well-organized campaign effort."

Donald Trump News For June 17, 2016

Trump.news) The pathetic hypocrisy of the “mainstream” media is on full display again, this time over at the Washington Post. The paper published a lengthy piece this morning that essentially complained about some T-shirts that are being sold at campaign events for presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald J. Trump and are disparaging of his likely Democratic rival (we won’t republish what the T-shirts say in this space, but you can certainly click here to read the story and see what the shirts say – think the “B-word”).

“Although some women may casually use the term among friends or as a sign of empowerment, the b-word is still widely considered a particularly aggressive and demeaning insult when hurled at a woman, especially if it comes from a man. Many supporters of Hillary Clinton — poised to become the nation’s first female presidential nominee — feel the word is loaded and offensive,” the Post complained, in typical hypocritical fashion. Well, boo hoo. Ain’t politics a blood sport?

Others on the Left certainly think so. Not only has Trump been called a lot worse (and unjustifiably so), there is actually a T-shirt for sale over at Left-wing hate site Wonkette (no link for you, Wonkette – we won’t help you sell it) that depicts Hillary holding Trump’s severed head, a la the legend of Holofernes.

It just doesn’t get any more hypocritical than this, folks – but of course, venom and violence are fine with the political Left, which regularly employs it (most often at Trump rallies while conservatives and Republicans never disrupt the former first lady’s rallies – though that may change this summer). But again, it’s just another reason why you should be avoiding these Left-wing hack media sites and newspapers this campaign season. Our candidate cannot and will never get a fair shake, nor will his supporters.

Sometimes it is no fun being right: One of Trump’s primary campaign messages is that he would be much better than President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at keeping the country safe because his anti-terrorism policies would be much more effective, like beefing up border security and shutting down mass migration into the U.S. from terrorist-brewing hate cauldrons in the Middle East. Of course, Obama and Clinton constantly pooh-pooh those ideas, claiming they aren’t “presidential” or “grown up” or something like that. But the fact is, under Obama and Clinton the United States has been attacked each year of Obama’s presidency. As reported by the New York Post:

America has now averaged one serious Islamic terrorist attack a year on President Obama’s watch, yet he still insists the threat from radical Islam is overblown and that he’s successfully protecting the nation.

If only hubris could be weaponized!

In the wake of Omar Mateen’s Orlando massacre, Obama whined about growing criticism of his terror-fighting strategy. But boy, does he deserve it. His record on terrorism is terrible, and Hillary Clinton should have a tough time defending it.

Here we are in the eighth year of his presidency, and the nation has now suffered eight significant attacks by Islamist terrorists on US soil or diplomatic property — an average of one attack a year since Obama’s been in office, with each new attack seemingly worse than the last.

And there’s six long months left to go.

More from Paul Sperry at the Post, here.

Trump does Gilly’s: To mark his one-year campaign anniversary Trump went to the famed Gilly’s honky tonk ballroom in Dallas, where the 1980 smash “Urban Cowboy,” starring John Travolta, Debra Winger, Scott Glenn and others and featuring a mechanical bull-riding contest. While there, he joked about Clinton, his hair and cowboy hats:

“This is the one-year anniversary, and hopefully, we’re going to make it a worthwhile year,” he told the adoring crowd. “There are thousands of people outside who can’t get in. We’ll get a bigger venue next time.”

Trump hosted the rally at Gilley’s honky-tonk ballroom in Dallas, renowned as the location for the scene in the 1980 film “Urban Cowboy” in which John Travolta rides a mechanical bull.

“I read about this place,” Trump said. “Where’s that horse? I want to go on that horse!”

He also received what he called the “nicest” compliment from someone in the crowd who said she loved his hair.

“And it is my hair,” Trump said. “Did you get that on tape?”

    There is more, here.

EXCLUSIVE: Pro-Trump propaganda posing as 'news' sites originate from Macedonia

Pro-Trump "news" websites have flooded the internet with demonstrably false propaganda in the last few months. These phony reports are presumably designed to sway undecided voters toward presidential candidate Donald Trump, while relentlessly slandering his opponent Senator Ted Cruz.

In the wake of the Wisconsin primary, for example, supporters of Donald Trump took to social media posting what appeared to be valid news reports making fraudulent claims that electronic voting machines in Wisconsin were switching from Donald Trump to Ted Cruz.

NRA’s Wayne LaPierre forced to issue clarification on guns in nightclubs
Posted at 6:49 pm on June 19, 2016 by Greg P.

NRA EVP and CEO Wayne LaPierre was forced to issue a clarification after he said on “Face the Nation” Sunday morning that, “I don’t think you should have firearms where people are drinking.”

    Transcript:

DICKERSON: Donald Trump has suggesting concealed-carry in nightclub, where people are drinking? Is that a good idea?

LAPIERRE: I don’t think you should have firearms where people are drinking.

But I will tell you this. Everybody, every American starts to have — needs to start having a security plan. We need to be able to protect ourselves, because they’re coming. And they’re going for vulnerable spots, and this country needs to realize it.
