Almost, if not all bombings in Thailand have been attributed to one religious group. I think that some are too quick to divert suspicion, and the trend seems to be the same in Europe.

Pointing the finger at your opponents may be just a cheap shot.

Most certainly it does not make any sense for the Junta's political opponents to target tourists.
The same government initially blamed the same political opponents for the Erawan Shrine bombing:

Re: Bombs hit popular Thailand resort town of Hua Hin

This quote from the above article seems worth repeating:

"By contrast the style of the attacks - twin bombings, catching those who gather to look at the first blast - are very typical of the insurgents, loosely led by the separatist Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) movement in the three southernmost provinces."

    In other words, stay clear!

Seems very much more credible than blaming those against the referendum. BRN is known in the past to have links with al-Qaeda and probably has the same with ISIS as the targets are similar to those chosen by ISIS in Paris and Germany.

Not clear on your point. But, given your previous stand, I might assume that you are saying that this must be the insurgents.

The insurgents, in the south, are not trying to "kill the evil satan", they are not retaliating for the damage wreaked on their homeland; they are wanting a separate state. I believe this is why they have kept their activities to the south, their "homeland". If found moving into other parts of Thailand can only bring them more opposition.

Re: Bombs hit popular Thailand resort town of Hua Hin

I find it a bit hard to believe that some one just happened to have all of these bombs on hand, as well as their covert communications, and organised crew so soon after the referendum. You can't, as far a I am aware, buy these things from tesco or 7/ 11. So....the bombs being the same as used by the insurgents, and thes other factors, lead me to believe that it's not polliticall. Unless the insurgents are upset about the poll.

Muslims are standouts for using murder to argue their point. I could be wrong, time will tell.

If i remember correctly, i think the Erawan shrine bomb took place on the eve AFTER the bike for mum event in 2015. I was only in Hua Hin a few days ago, just a day before this most recent attack took place. Though it seems political as opposed to religious.

Unfortunately, here in Thailand, military grade ordinance is so common, one might believe it is, indeed, available at Tesco-Lotus or 7/11!
