    WRITER: ONLINE REPORTERS

Thai prosecutors will fly to the United States to bring back the disgraced former monk Nen Kham after a California court approved his extradition, provided he doesn't appeal.

Wirapol Sukphol, 38, better known as Nen Kham after his monastic name Luang Pu Nen Kham Chattiko, fled Thailand in 2013. He was disrobed for inappropriate behaviour including having sex, boasting about supernatural powers and leading an extravagant life with his private jet and brand-name luggage.

A 3-member team of the Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) arrived in the United States Monday to escort a former notorious monk back for trial at home.

The team led by DSI director-general Pol Col Phaisit Wongmuang flew to the US after the Californian Court decided to hand over the former monk, Luang Pu Nen Kham, to Thai authorities to face charges of sexual assault of a minor, money laundering, and breaching of Computer Act.

Hmmm............ I wonder what he got up to in California. Did he tell people his history? Did he already have contacts in the US? I think there's a story here.
