    Over zealous anti-virus

McAfee is such a nag! Most recently he has told me Thailand Q&A is unsafe. I have had McAfee for over a year now, and when this warning popped up several days ago I thought there really was a temporary problem with the forums. Then this week I decided to click the "take the risk anyway" link and had to wait a few minutes and open in a different window. Now it seems I will have to do this every time I want to visit. This morning I went back to where I left off yesterday, and got the same warning. I don't know why I kept McAfee other than being too lazy to find an alternate to go with my MalwareBytes.

    Re: Over zealous anti-virus

Had exactly the same problem myself. Started with Google declaring the Forum a phishing site. Richard managed to sort this. (Incidentally, there was nothing wrong with the Forum-Richard checked it-nothing untoward found)

By that time my ISP web security software had noticed it and blocked me from the Forum. It has taken me 2 40 minute conversations to get it unblocked. All I can suggest is you call McAfee customer service and get it un-blacklisted.

    Re: Over zealous anti-virus

    Hi,

Same problem here on my computers, i had not received any alerts from Google, i just went to login and a Virgin Media alert notification box ( they are my providor) informed me The forum was a phishing site, this showed up on my i pad, home computer and also my mobile phone, funny thing though when i used just 3G on the phone Virgin allowed it? Anyway like Khun Don i was on the phone to my provider for quite a long time to no avail, they even managed to login to the forums no problem. I had to go to my settings and turn of parental control which worked. I was not aware of parental control ever being on, i can only think maybe during some automatic updates it turned itself on. So glad it seems to be sorted and okay now.

    Billy.

I am also with Virgin Media, Billy, so I know exactly what you have been through. I had to turn "Virus Safe" off to get access!

My guess is that the site was cluttered with Google's own bots, phishing for all any any information they could collect of members.

Same here with my ISP, I have to turn of my web safe to access TCB but remember to turn it back on after visiting here, so frustrating.

Can't understand it-was working fine after the call to Virgin for over 24 hours with Web Safe switched on. I am going to go back to them tomorrow and give them hell. This is unacceptable given the high cost. So angry now I have been looking at Sky.
