Smoking ban on 20 beaches in Thailand from November

Smoking ban on 20 beaches in Thailand from November

The twenty beaches included are in Pattaya, Bangsaen, Cha-am, Hua Hin, Phuket, Samui, Phang Nga and Songkhla. If the campaign is successful, more beaches will be included in the smoking ban.

The better class of tourists they have said they wanted in the past should now also be non-smokers?

    Hi

It's Thai's trickle down economy. they raised taxes sky high on cigarettes for higher government to function. Now impose a ban on actually smoking to help the poorly paid police have another cash stream. what's the problem?

Clean up the tourists, but not the water. Move the blame to preserve the image. The last time I was in Pattaya, there was a big rainfall. The stormwater drains backed up because they were blocked, and rubbish spew out everywhere on Soi Buakhao. The rubbish was still there in the morning. Filthy place.

Is a smoking ban on a few beaches the most interesting thing that has happened in Thailand in the last week or so?........"news" is mighty thin on the ground these days - surely some Shinawatra or other has been charged with some new and innovative offence somewhere?
