    hops is an ingredient for beer

    Does anyone know the thai word for "hops" ?

    My dictionary says ฮ็อพ which makes sense

    Looks like since hops is not native to Thailand, there is no traditional word for it and they just use a transliteration from English. So some variation is not surprising.

    This place claims to be the first hops grower in Thailand, and there it's spelled ฮอปส์.

    At this Chang Beer site, they use a similar variant ฮอบส์.
    They write the following:

    ฮอบส์คือดอกไม้ในตระกูลไม้เลื้อย ซึ่งช่วยเติมเต็มรสชาติของเบียร์ และรักษาความหอมหวานของมอลต์ เราพิถีพิถันเลือกฮอบส์ที่ได้คุณภาพมากที่สุดจากยุโร ปและอเมริกา เพื่อช่วยเพิ่มรสสัมผัส และกลิ่มหอมสดชื่นมากยิ่งขึ้น
    My translation:
    Hops is the flower of a species of climbing plant. It adds flavor to beer and helps preserve the sweet fragrance of malt. We meticulously choose the highest quality hops from Europe and America in order to optimally enhance the taste and fresh aroma.
