Six cases of human-infected rabies have been reported in Bangkok since the beginning of this year, but there is no fatality, according to the Ministry of Public Health and the Livestock Department.

Of the six cases, two were reported in Bang Khen district, two in Bang Sue district and one each in Chatuchak and Don Muang districts.

The Livestock Department earlier declared 13 provinces “red zone” for rabies after three deaths from rabies.

Make sure your rabies shots are up to date well before travelling date!

We have had our dogs vaccinated in the village around ten days ago. They set up at the "town hall" and do all animals free. But next day, I was bitten by a brothers dog, and am assured that it was vaccinated. Fingers crossed.
If it's not true, don't say it. If it's not yours, don't take it. If it's not right, don't do it.

My daughter, who was around 7 at the time, had to have a series of rabies shots after being nipped by a cousin's dog. The kids were on the floor playing with the little dog when it happened. I was just a few doors away and they brought her to us and we all went to the hospital where shots were recommended. The dog was actually a house dog which had not been vaccinated. Otherwise the shots could have been avoided.
