I have 2 favourite outlets that I make a point visiting everytime I'm in Bangkok. One is down in Chinatown, it is a stall at the junction just a few metres down from White Orchid Hotel. They serve really good seafood. The oyster ommelette is a must try there.
The second one is a noodle stall beside Hollywood and Dance Fever. Looking directly at Hollywood, it is on the left side. It's a small stall that many years ago used to sell duck noodles, they sell pork and beef noodles now. Absolutely delicious.

Thank you Ivor, it is good to be back too.
Anyway, I was almost bamboozled by the similarity of Ivor and mat. Both of you are from UK, both of you have short names, both of you have the same avatar, both of you have about 300+ posts, your joined dates are the same and even the average posts per day is similar...

Cabbages and Condoms.resturant.
Address:-10 Sukhumvit Soi.12 Tel.0-2299-4611.11am.to 10pm.
Most tourists are attracted to this resturant because of its name, but the food is more than decent. It's also very affordable.Simple dishes like panda leaf chicken and crisp fried fish in chilli sauce. In case you're wondering, its name is not a gimmick. The eatery raises funds for family planning programme. There is a display of contraceptive devices for sale and reading material on family planning and HIV.

Hi. This post is for Mat really. I just got back from Thailand. While in Phuket, I found Sabai Sabai restaurant. The restaurant was very badly damaged by the tsunami, but I am pleased to tell you that Khun Yupin and her family are all ok. She now has a brand new kitchen and a completely refurbished restaurant and is very busy.

"Cabbages and Condoms" There is also one restaurant with this name in Korat. I thought it was a one off, but maybe there is a chain of them.
Also in Korat there is a good seafood restaurant called 'White Rabbit' Katai Khao, sorry if the English translitteratioin is not right, where the food is great and the prices are pretty cheap.
If you happen to find yourself in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok I'd recommend the Soi 5 Food Centre, considering its location in the heart of the tourist area, the prices are quite reasonable and the service is great
