Anyone know of a reputable and trustworthy Estate Agent that I could talk to about buying an appartment in Bangkok?

I am very cautious of being ripped off brcause I am a "farang"

Wait a second - are you sure you are qualified to have real estate in Thailand? You either have to have a Thai spouse, have a legit company in Thailand or hold Thai citizenship (like Mr. Andrew Biggs hopes to have), to just name a few conditions. That's from the top of my head - better check with reliable sources such as this site. Good luck!

Hmmm I thought non Thais were cool to buy condo's....I think its if you want to buy a house that lots of restrictions are necessary like the ones you indicated.

Check this FAQ link for more info

Many here, but first, perhaps consult a recognised independent lawyer and get the ground rules sorted.

If you do this first, you will have a much clearer focus of the Foreign ownership procedure. Condo purchases are very doable, just do your homework first and you should be ok.
(Including supply/demand models for the nearer term - unless you plan on owning for several years...if you plan on having rental income, you should really look at the supply/demand side first)

    Good luck!
