    การสมควรหมายความว่าอะไร

    ดีครับ เพื่อนๆ
    ช่วยสักหน่อยได้ไหมครับ
    ผมไม่ค่อยทราบว่า 'การสมควร' คืออะไรในประโยคนี้ :"โดยที่เป็นการสมควรปรับปรุงกฎหมายว่า..."
    ขอบคุณหลายๆเดิ้อ

    'การสมควร' means "การกระทำที่สมควร, เหมาะสม"- proper performance

    Thanks Alone...So in this case would it be fair to say that the การ in 'การสมควร' could not be translated into English using an 'ing' noun/process? I sort of guessed that perhaps there was a neat '-ing' way of translating 'การสมควร'. Actually, somewhere between my English and Thai minds it feels like there could be a way out...

    Normally words which could be translated into English using an 'ing' noun/process in your mean are words which in the pattern of 'การ + verb' but 'การสมควร' is 'การ + adjective' ,so it is uncommon for Thai grammar. 'การสมควร' is short form of 'การกระทำ + สมควร - noun + adjective'. So I don't think you can use '-ing' to translate this word.

    Alone thanks again...whoops! I totally blanked out on the 'การ + verb' combination...of course: 'การ + verb' ! Okay, great lesson...back to the drawing board!
