    If I'm not wrong, this should be a ginger plant. Here are more ginger plants for comparision.

    guava Yes, you got it! I will get a shot of the kha attached to the stem. I was just thinking alot of people never saw the plant of some of some of the items used in cooking.

    Igotnotime, Yes, alot of the plants are pleasing to the eye. There are many gingers. Some used for flowers ,some used for food. The ginger used most commonly for cooking has it's own look . I will get a photo and post it here.

    This was an interesting quiz. Maybe you could find some pics of other ingredients as I am sure you are quite correct that many people never see them in their natural state.
