Sorry to hear about the bandwidth squeeze. Watching the som tum video, I was reminded of the last "booth" in the far corner of the MBK food court. I've never seen anyone work as hard as the older woman who made my papaya salad. The people staffing the booth on another occasion when I returned didn't seem quite as motivated...

Here's a not-very-good quality video made at the night market in Songkhla. It's a slow host, be forewarned! For best results, right-click and download to a local drive before playing it.

    Wonderful Site

I HAVE TO APPLAUDE YOU, RICHARD, FOR THE GREAT FOOD MAKING VIDEOS YOU HAVE PRODUCED !!! SO MUCH MORE FUN THAN JUST READING AND FOLLOWING RECIPES KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !! WAITING FOR THE CURRIES AND IF YOU CAN, A FACSIMILE OF THE GREAT CHOPPED CRAB CURRY SERVED AT THE SAMBOON RESTAURANT ON SURIWONG ROAD. IT WOULD BE MY JOY TO RE EMBURSE YOU FOR THE MEAL. THE CURRY IS TASTEFUL AND MADE WITH LOTS OF EGGS...SO GO (IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN THERE ALREADY).

Being the new kid on the forum, I must say I'm truly pleased at having found this site. I reside in Thailand and while I've learned to prepare a few Thai dishes....I expect this site and the videos to greatly expand my currently limited abilities. Thanks for all the effort it must take to both make the videos and make them available online. It will be fully appreciating your efforts...once I get my ADSL connection next week ;-)
