We do have few words referring to reunion regarding school reunion.

One is งานเลี้ยงรุ่น, used when the reunion involve only ex-pupil from the same year or same class i.e. same รุ่น

Another word is งานคืนสู่เหย้า, used when all alumni have been invited. Usually the reunion itself will be at the school hence คืนสู่เหย้า = back to (old) home. However, some still use this word even the event arrange somewhere else.

งานพบปะสังสรรค์ can also be used for a party or get-together event in general, then it can be clarified as
งานพบปะสังสรรค์ เพื่อนโรงเรียนเก่า to say that such event is about friends from the school.

Let me correct this sentence. It's better to say "เมื่อวานผมโทรหาเพื่อนที่อยู่เมืองไทย"

หรือว่า - or, else.
