You can rent a taxi from Bangkok for one day trip. Most of them know these Wat very well because it is very popular in Thailand. Please bargain with taxi to not over 2500 Baht or 3000 Baht maximum.

Nakhon Pathom is not far from Bangkok, it about 80 km. Train is not a choice to go there.

There also have one day trip conduct by BMTA with only 259 Baht. (no Tour Guide) Unfortunately they are all in Thai.

    http://www.bmta.co.th/thaiversion/thai_index.htm

Here is I converse in English by briefly

Trip: Victory monument (Bangkok) - Nakhon Pathom
    Time: 7.30 am – 17.30 pm
    Every Saturday and Sunday

This tour is about wai phra 9 Wat (visit 9 temples in Nakhon Phatom)
    1 Wat Don Yai Hom
    2 Wat Phra Pathom Chedi
3 Wat Phai Lom (LP poon)
    4 Wat Phra Pra Tone
    5 Wat Sri Sa Tong
    6 Wat Sri Maha Bho
    7 Wat Bang Phra
    8 Wat Kuweing
    9 Wat Rai King
10 Donwai food and vegetable market

It very amazing tour that I ever been, even I am Thai. You just bring you own food if you can eat Thai food beside the street. No need to reserve but go early get the better seat. They will park for each Wat about a half an hour, enough to wai phra process.

Here is telephone number regarding to this trip. I am not sure they are speaking English.

    Hi,
As I mentioned before this program is for Thai but foreigners are always welcome.
That information in the website is in Thai and they did not promote this campaign very well so that less of foreigners will aware of this.

It is a simply tour not luxury program like the one you bought from agencies.
On the tour, you can find the one who can speak English and eager to serving you as a friend.

No need to make a reservation in earlier. Once you are arrived Thailand (must be before Saturday and Sunday) you can have a hotel receptionist to do reservation for you coz they speak Thai.

There are many one day trip conducts by BMTA. You may print them from the website and show to hotel receptionist and tell them where you want to go. I think they can help with this supply thing.

Here are lists of BMTA people on that website who you can make reservation with them. (Nakhon Pathom Province Temple’s tour, Bus departure from Victory Monument’s station)
