Thai grocery stores in your city
I thought it might be a good idea if we listed Thai grocery stores that we know of in our own towns outside of Thailand. If enough people list their local stores, this thread may become a useful resource for people who are looking to buy specialty ingredients and it may even one day become a sticky, who knows? If you think this is a useful idea please feel free to add your own city or town.
Anyway, I'll start off with my local one.
Nagoya, Aichi, Japan.
Kacha (カシャー)
TEL: 052 251 1728
Open 10am to 9pm every day of the year.
Address: 5-21-21 Sakae, Naku ku, Nagoya. Maruta cho intersection on route 41 (Yanase traffic lights). Heading north from the intersection, take the first left, it's on the right hand side.
No website.

Re: Thai grocery stores in your city
For the San Francisco, California, "Bay Area" you can find a list on Kasma Loha-Unchit's web site: http://www.thaifoodandtravel.com/markets.html. Many of these are Chinese markets that have sections catering to Thai customers, but there also are some smaller Thai and Lao grocery stores. (Hope they're doing okay during this downturn...)

Dallas, Texas:
Thai 2 Go
9191 Forest Lane
Suite 3
Dallas, TX 75243
(972) 235-3038
This place is constantly re-defiining itself. While it is mainly opting for food take out...they also sell cds, videos, and have Thai magazine subscriptions. They have a small grocery section as well as books and souvenirs.

Good list! My only complaint is that it lists markets in my home town as being in Marin County as opposed to their true location further North in beautiful Sonoma County!
Phnom Penh
923 Petaluma Hill Road
Santa Rosa, CA 95404
(707) 570-0331
Is our favorite and has the best prices. Fresh produce is delivered on Tuesdays and Fridays. I used to find the best calling cards there back in the days when my wife was in Thailand.
Asia Market
1110 Petaluma Hill Road
Santa Rosa, CA 95404
(707) 545-9618
Is owned by an engaging Lao man, who is lucky enough to have a liquor license and has the best prices on 6 packs of beer in town. We get the stuff there that Phnom Penh doesn't carry.
*Thailao Market
1051 Santa Rosa Ave.
Santa Rosa, CA 95404
(707) 546-0129
This is the place that turned me onto the Thai Wat that we go to and on Fridays they have fresh vegetables that you can't always get at the others.
The really funny thing is that you could stand in front of one and almost hit either one of the others with a rock.

Re: Thai grocery stores in your city
Pacific Ocean Market Place is a terrific place in the Denver, CO area. They not only carry everything Thai but from other Asian areas as well. In addition to canned foods, they carry fresh vegetables, fruit, meats and fish, frozen dinners, Thai rice, cooking and serving utensils etc. There also is a snack bar.

Re: Thai grocery stores in your city
In Las Vegas, the Spring Mountain area (known as Chinatown but is central to a large number of Asian communities in Las Vegas) has a number of good small Thai groceries and a couple larger all purpose Asian groceries (Ranch 99) for fresh meat & seafood. Everyone has their own favorite for best prices or highest quality.
