Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya - Bus 389.
I just confirmed the schedule times of the mystery bus 389 from BKK to Pattaya.
It is operated by http://www.transport.co.th/ (Thai)
02-1344-097,8
(English nit-noy)
I could not get a connection to '021344097' but can connect to '021344098.
I asked the schedule times:
09.00
13.00
17.00
19.30
I wish this information was made more available on the www to foreigners.
Currently the information I see about Subanabhumi transport does not show any schedule times for any transport options!
Sorry I could not confirm if a reservation or booking is required or from which bus stand number because my skype-phone was breaking up.
Mike.

Re: Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya - Bus 389.
Aircon bus service opened between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Pattaya
Narisa Nitikarn
A direct bus service between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Pattaya has been opened by Transportation Co Ltd, bearing the number 999 and with a one-way ticket priced at 106 baht.
There is now a shuttle bus to take passengers from Pattaya to the new airport, and vice versa.
Transportation Co’s Pramualsak Chandang said the company had obtained the concession from the Ministry of Transportation to operate three routes from the new airport to destinations in Thailand: apart from the Pattaya service there are buses traveling to Rong Kluea Market and to Nong Khai province.
The Pattaya bus terminus is located at the beginning of Soi Chaiyapruk 1, 100 meters away from Jomtien Beach. The officer in charge of the terminus is Chatchawan Charoenwattha.
First-class air-conditioned buses leave here three times per day for Suvarnabhumi Airport, departing at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and departing from the airport for Pattaya at the same time.
Ticket price for a one-way trip is 106 baht per person, with the bus having a capacity of 40 passengers per trip. There are three service officers on board, namely the driver, conductor and hostess. Cold towels and soft drinks are provided, and there is an on-board restroom.
The bus travels a non-stop direct route on the motorway, and takes approximately two hours for the 127-kilometer trip.
Mrs Pinnat Charoenphol, assistant director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Office Region 3, said the service is a good one and appropriately priced. She has, however, asked if service locations can be opened closer to town, as the terminus is quite a distance from the center. She has also queried if three buses per day with a capacity of 40 persons each will be enough for the high season, suggesting that extra buses may be necessary.

Re: Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya - Bus 389.
I'm a bit confused here as I'm not sure if the 2 post are relating to the same airport to Pattaya bus
One indicated bus #389 and the other bus #999 both going to Pattaya at the same time.
This should suggest they are two different lines that stop at different places in pattaya?--dont know if this is right or not--or perhaps its the same bus but bus # had been changed since service started.

The bus I posted about departs from Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi Airport -the original post concerned a bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya.
I posted to give the Pattaya departure information.
The bus company name for both buses is the same, and they have an English lang website here:
http://www.transport.co.th/Eng/HomeEnglish.htm
However, I can find no mention on the website of any bus departing from the airport as yet, though the site does have timetables of regular daily departures to Pattaya from central BKK.
It would also seem there are simultaneous departures of buses from both the Airport and Pattaya, in which case the buses would theoretically pass each other on the road at around the half way point of the journey.
Maybe the bus changes its number for the return journey to Pattaya from the airport to avoid confusion? Thats my best guess, weak though it is

Re: Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya - Bus 389.
I found this on the web site below - It may be helpful for someone.
This is the cheapest way to go to Pattaya and as long as you don't have a lot of baggages its a comfortable way too.
(Link Removed by moderator)
Leave the airport by Gate 10 and look out for the SHUTTLE BUS Booth.
The Shuttle Bus will carry you (FREE of charge!) to the Suvarnabhumi Bus Terminal. There is a Bus to Pattaya Jomtien at 09:00, 13:00, 17:00 and 20:00. Should you stay in Pattaya or in Naklua but not in Jomtien, tell it to the Bus Driver.
This (Yellow) Bus Line doesn't stop at Pattaya's Bus Terminal! It runs the Sukhumvit Road only.
The price we had to pay at the time of writing was 106 Baht only.
Bell Transport has a direct Bus from Airport to the Pattaya Bus Terminal. The one way ticket is 150 Baht. For this Bus please contact the ATTA Counter on Level 2 (Arrival Hall) or phone the Bell office (02 747 4675, 02 747 4676). The bus is waiting at level 1 (Bus Lobby), at door 7. The Bus to Pattaya leaves the Airport at 08:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 and 18:00.
On the Ground Floor (Level 1 called by the AOT, short for Airport Authority of Thailand) there are Busses connecting the Airport with Tourist Spots of Bangkok.

I just want to remind people to take this 999 Yellow Bus. There is usually plenty of space to stretch out. They give you free water and a bakery item and it is even cheaper than the Ekamai bus. The bus will stop for you on Sukhumvit at Naklua, North Pattaya, Central Pattaya, or South Pattaya Rd and then continue right down to the beach at Jomtien "Chayapruk Rd".
The Jomtien bus station is easy to miss, since it is just a shophouse, but it is there. You can't miss the large yellow bus though. The only trouble is that the buses only depart 5 times a day. I love this bus to go to/from Jomtien and Bangkok, since I won't get stuck in any BKK city traffic. Catch a taxi from the Suvarnabhumi station (no 50B surcharge) and you can get anywhere in Bangkok much faster than going to Ekamai or MorChit.
