I don't know what dairy products are made of these days, but it kind of scares me that some of them cannot even go off - like yoghurt or cheese remain edible for months.
my mother's degree is originally in food technology, she hasn't worked in the industry for 20 years, but her stories still creep me out and I refuse to listen to the details.

Probably-but the dates are also on the very, very conservative side to avoid being sued!
