Help about school in thailand (URGENT)

Hi!
Im about to become 16year in 3 months and im moving to thailand with my mom.(shes thai and i can speak thai to)
I live in sweden and my school ends in June. class 9. The last year in school here in sweden. after its something called gymnasium...

And i have NO idea of how the school works in thailand!

1.When does the new school year start?
2.Which grade would i be in if im 16?
3.When do they have holidays, exams etc?

It would be VERY appriciated if you could tell me more about studying in thailand and how it is and etc.

Sorry if i seem to confuce some of you!

Welcome to the forums. I presume you mean you will go to a normal Thai school and not an international school. I think you would be in Mattayom 4 or 5. I think the latter, which is Grade 11. Some school have English programs which you might find better. I am presuming you both speak and read Thai. If you cannot read then you will have difficulty at a normal school.

The school year starts in May. There are two terms a year with both mid-term and end of term exams. The second term starts in November. You can find some information about School life at www.thaischoollife.com.

Im going to an international school and yes i can read and write in thai but not properly.
Its a school in pattaya wich name i do not remember

In that case we cannot help you as that is a whole different ball game. British internationals and American internationals have different ages for their grades and also different dates for their terms.

For schools following an American curriculum:

"1.When does the new school year start?"
August

"2.Which grade would i be in if im 16?"
Grade 10

"3.When do they have holidays, exams etc?"
About every 3 months there's a 1 week holiday.
Also between academic years (two month off in June and July)

August

Grade 11

"3.When do they have holidays, exams etc?"
3 times a year, i.e. December, April, June.
Also between academic years (two month off in June and July)
Exams depend on curriculum i.e. A levels, IB, or SATs
